Here at Daily Monotony, we're proud to be friends of Lars A. Doucet and his totally excellent game Super Energy Apocalypse, which we ourselves, the monotonous ones, have designated the best game involving zombies and also energy management. Now we proudly present the guitar tabs to the theme song, transcribed by none other than the composer of the song himself, me. Now, I fully expect the intarwebz to be afloat in funky remixes and folksy guitar versions in a week. Okay? Okay?

E                   A
I really miss ice cream
E                                     B7
Cold beer and mountain dew
E                   A
I also miss road trips
C#m                                Bsus4      B
And central air was nice, too
               A                                     E
Now the charred-out landscape's all around
       G#7                       C#m
And zombies stole our cars
              A                     E
They've got a taste for nuclear waste
               F#                          Bsus4     B
And they ate my best friend Lars
               A                                       B
Now the turbine blades spin in the breeze
    G#7                 C#m
Reminding me of shady trees
       A                             E
Our trucks drain food until they stall
     F#m  E/G# A   F#    B7
Because they run on ethanol

           E                              A
So we scan the screen for radar blips
             E                      B7
There's hostiles out at thirty clicks
          F#m                  C#m   B
We're running low on ammo clips
           E        A             B7      E
In the Super Energy Apocalypse!

[next verse and refrain repeat same chords until last line]

Remember New Houston
And New Thermopylae
New Texas shines like the old one
Just with more weaponry
Now the oil derrick's running low
And the tesla coil, it charges slow
It seems there's no place left to go
As the daylight slowly fades
So I built a solar-voltaic cell
But at night it doesn't work that well
Who will save me from this living hell
Which nature's wrath hath made?

So we crank our floodlights to the max
While zombies dine on garbage sacks
I really hope we'll come to grips
               E        A          B7       C#m
With the Super Energy Apocalypse!

                                      E+/B#
Fluorescent bulbs save energy
E/B                             F#
If you don't mind the mercury
A         E     A                  E
We recycle all of our debris
A                  E     A             Bsus4  B
To stem the tide of the decay
C                                  G
We build our windows facing north
D7                            G
To save us from the xenomorph
Am                        Bsus4    B
Our engineers all venture forth
         E                     B7
That we might live another day

E                                       A
Then the zombies sang a catchy song
              E                                       B7
It went "trash, trash, trash, trash, yum, yum, yum"
               F#m                        C#m   B
Then we fried them with our flame turrets
           E         A            B7       E
In the Super Energy Apocalypse!
